Viking Classics: 65 Convertible

2000–05

An iconic Viking model with more than 80 built, the 65C is the best-selling convertible her size ever produced.

INTERIOR

Each of the four staterooms has an ensuite head. The fourth stateroom doubles as crew quarters with direct engine room through a water-tight door from the head.

Overview:  A classic sportfishing design, the Viking 65 is one of the best-selling big convertibles ever produced. Featuring a huge 179 square-foot cockpit, mezzanine seating, and a comfortable four-stateroom, four-head interior, over 80 of these yachts were built before being replaced with the Viking 68C in 2006. Sumptuous surroundings in the salon are matched by concealed appliances and high-gloss teak joinery throughout. Forward in the salon is the galley with three Sub-Zero undercounter refrigeration units, and forward of the galley is a walk-in storage pantry. Opposite the galley on the starboard side is a U-shaped dinette with seating for six. Below, the master suite with walkaround king bed is amidship and the VIP stateroom with centerline queen berth is forward. A guest cabin with upper/lower berths is to starboard, and the forth stateroom, opposite the companionway washer and dryer, is abaft the master suite. With its separate head and shower and direct engine room access, this cabin can easily serve as crew quarters. The enclosed bridge version features salon access to the climate-controlled upper level and an after docking station.

Power: MTU 16V2000 2,000hp diesels cruise at 30–32 knots (mid to high 30s top).
