Viking Classics: 68 Convertible

2006–09

Classic styling and honest 40-knot performance powered this first-generation Viking 68C to the forefront of sportfishing excellence.

INTERIOR

The 68’s tastefully appointed salon flows with luxury features including an electric entry door, granite galley counters, and a 42" pop-up TV.

Overview:  Successor to the iconic Viking 65 Convertible (2000–05), the bold styling of the 68 Convertible was a big step forward from the traditional lines of earlier Viking convertibles. The 68C features a beautifully appointed four-stateroom, four-head interior with fully equipped galley, comfortable dinette, and a wide open salon with a wraparound sofa to starboard and entertainment center with 42" pop-up TV to port. Below deck, an amidship master suite with an athwartship queen berth is to port, directly across a guest cabin with upper and lower berths. Forward is a VIP stateroom with centerline queen berth. Crew quarters with direct engine room access are aft to port and down three steps. A laundry center is in the companionway, and all four cabins feature ensuite heads. The 68's sprawling 186 square-foot cockpit is overlooked by mezzanine seating atop a freezer, tackle locker, chill box and engine room hatch. The hull has 15 degrees of transom deadrise which helps soften the ride, even in rough seas. The flybridge, available in both open and closed versions, features a center-console helm with bench seats port and starboard.

Power: MTU 2,400hp V16 diesels cruise at 32 knots (40 knots top).
