Into the Future: The Viking 75 takes motoryacht design in a new direction.

For interior volume and accommodations, the tri-deck Viking 75 dwarfs the European imports.

"A savvy couple can easily manage the 75 Motoryacht, even in close quarters. That's largely because of the CAT Precision Control system that combines the thruster, transmissions and computer-linked  joystick"

"Speeds were impressive, too. Despite the sporty conditions, I recorded an average top hop of 34 knots and an average cruise (with 20-percent tab and the optional Seakeeper 26 gyrostabilizer activated) of 29.9 knots."

"Without using pod drives, Viking has managed to deliver pod-like maneuverability with traditional shafts."

"The Viking 75 features all the amenities of a luxury vessel, including a teak planked swim platform, built-in entertainment center, formal dining area with seating for eight, multiple lounges and a grilling area."

Overview:  Designed in collaboration with Michael Peters Yacht Design, the Viking 75 is the first new Viking motor yacht model since 2001. The sleek lines and teardrop salon windows share many styling features with the existing Viking fleet.

Accommodations:  With a beam of over 20 feet (widest in this class), the interior of the 75 is cavernous. Instead of placing the galley aft as it is on most current European yachts, the Viking’s aft salon layout offers guests direct access to the cockpit and hydraulic swim platform. The main deck day head is a thoughtful touch, and the eye-catching staircase leading from the salon to the enclosed bridge is a work of art. Below decks are five en suite staterooms including a full-beam master amidships with settee and large hull windows. Three more staterooms are forward of the master and a fifth — aft of the engine room — can be used as crew quarters or a guest stateroom. Positioning the master bathroom forward the engine room offers an extra level of sound insulation for the master bedroom, a feature sure to be appreciated while underway. The enclosed bridge serves as a second salon, and wide side decks make for convenient passage when moving forward to handle dock lines or anchoring.

Performance: Caterpillar 1,925hp C32 diesels cruise at 28–30 knots (low to mid 30s top), excellent numbers for a motoryacht this large.
