Tracking Today’s Fast-Paced Yacht Boating Market

WITH A mix of sporty styling and versatile accommodations the Cruisers 390 Express Coupe delivers impressive value in a midsize sport cruising boat. Where most express boats this size have the helm deck a step above the cockpit, the 390's vast single-level cockpit results in a more spacious—and versatile—main deck area than any boat in this class. To create this innovative cockpit/afterdeck space, the hardtop's windshield was moved forward (to provide standing headroom at the helm) and the aft cockpit seats was pushed all the way to the transom eliminating the transom bulwarks found in most express cruisers. With the canvass sunroof open the entire helm area is bathed in sunshine. Another surprise awaits below—an amazing full-beam master stateroom beneath the helm with double berth, love seat, and partial standing headroom. The lower salon features a convertible dinette forward, small galley with convection oven, and standup head with stall shower. The large bow lounge with adjustable backrest is perfect for soaking in the sun. MerCruiser 430hp gas I/Os cruise at 22–24 knots (mid 30s top). Volvo 370hp diesel IPS drives cruise in the mid 20s (28–30 knots top).

"We think that Cruisers Yachts has succeeded in building a 39’ express cruiser that is big and has a lot of utility. In fact, we think that most people will need nothing bigger for day boating and local cruising."

–BoatTest.com

"Belowdecks, the 390 EC offers a full-beam aft master stateroom — the only boat so arranged in this size class. Eight hull-side windows and a skylight under the windshield work together to ensure this designer cabin’s lightness and airiness."

–Boating Magazime

"The capable 390 features the largest cockpit in its class, with more than 150 square feet of integrated cockpit and helm space."

–TopSpeed.com

"Entertainment comes naturally onboard the 400 Sundancer, with an open floorplan that creates generous, connected social zones throughout the boat."

–Boating Magazine

"Style and luxury combine to form the newest Sea Ray express cruiser, the 400 Sundancer. A single level main deck seamlessly blends the main social areas and a galley-up design keeps the chef at the center of the gathering."

–BoatTest.com

"One of the impressive features is the optional electric transom grill and sink. Because it is on the aft side of the transom, it doesn’t take up any valuable cockpit space. Plus, if things get too hot on the grill, one needs only step off into the water."

THE SEA RAY 400 Sundancer is a mid-range sport cruiser with an enclosed main deck salon and distinctive hull windows. Entering through sliding glass doors, huge windows in the Sundancer's opulent single-level salon fill the entire area with natural lighting. The galley is forward to port, right across from the helm — the perfect  place for socializing at dockside or underway. Elegant hardwood flooring, high-end galley appliances, a power sunroof and an ergonomic helm with joystick controls combine to make this one of the most elegant interiors of any boat in this class. Below, buyers can choose from a two-stateroom single-head layout or a two-stateroom two-head floorplan. The master stateroom—which seems unusually spacious thanks to the large hull windows — features an expansive closet system or, alternately, an optional second head and shower. The cockpit, with L-shaped seating to starboard and a single seat to port, can be shaded by a power awning that extends from the hardtop. A hydraulic swim platform and transom grilling station are optional. Offered with sterndrive or V-drive propulsion, Cummins QSB 480hp V-drive diesels will cruise at 20–24 knots (about 30 knots top).
