The PowerBoat Guide

Tracking Today’s Fast-Paced Boating Market

What is the purpose of the PowerBoat Guide Legacy Edition?

The Legacy Edition was created primarily for marine surveyors who often require information on older boats that have been out of production for many years. Available in PDF format only, it includes hundreds of diverse — often obscure — models from such manufacturers as Hatteras, Bertram, Tollycraft, Trojan, Gulfstar, Sea Ray, Uniflite, Viking, etc. With some 3,400 boats, the Legacy Editioin is the ultimate historical refence guide to older models.

Are prices provided for every boat in the PowerBoat Guide?

No. The PowerBoat Guide includes resale values for most, but not all, popular models built after 2007. Prices are not published for custom and/or limited-production vessels.

What factors determine whether a particular model is featured in the PowerBoat Guide?

The primary consideration is sales popularity. That said, there are many models that did fairly well in the market but are not included. Because of space and time considerations we are limited in the number of boats we're able to cover each year.

Why are there no high-performance racing boats in the PowerBoat Guide?

Because we have no experience with the market for go-fast boats. That’s a specialized segment  of the boat business well beyond our collective experience.

Is the content of your new book, Guide to Late Model Center Consoles, taken entirely from the PowerBoat Guide?

Fot the most part, yes. However there are several smaller boats included in Guide to Late Model Center Consoles that do not appear in the PowerBoat Guide.

Are older editions of the PowerBoat Guide still available?

Older PowerBoat Guides can often be found on Amazon or Ebay.

How can I copy a page from the PowerBoat Guide PDF and send it as an email attachment?

Go to the boat page you want to copy. In the Menu bar at the top left of the screen, select "Edit" and then select "Take a Snapshot" from the drop-down list. The curser turns into a crosshair. Drag across the page and release the mouse. The image is now copied. You can then paste it into your document. (Note: Be sure you are using the latest version of Adobe Reader.)
