Tracking Today’s Fast-Paced Yacht Boating Market

THE BEST SELLING boat in this class, the Sabre 48 Salon Express joins classic Downeast styling and modern technology in a cruising yacht of uncommon beauty and sophistication. An enclosed pilothouse with cherry joinery provides a weather-protected environment for cruising or entertaining, and large salon windows provide panoramic views of the water. A fully equipped galley and two double staterooms, each with a walkaround queen bed, are below. Two heads with showers separate the staterooms. The helm deserves special notice for its standard Stidd chair, joystick controls, and nearly unobstructed 360-degree sightlines. In the salon, the portside settee slides inboard to expose a utility space below, and an electrically operated window in the aft bulkhead drops down to open the area to the cockpit. The wide side decks of the 48 Salon make getting around easy. Additional features include teak-and-holly flooring throughout, helm access door, swim platform, L-shaped cockpit seating with folding table, Ultraleather upholstery, anchor windlass, and power sunroof. Cummins 550hp diesels with Zeus pod drives cruise at 26–27 knots (30+ top).

"The accommodations truly reflect Sabre’s evolutionary design process. Details such as ceramic tile with glass tile accents in the heads, Shoji screens in the master stateroom and elegantly detailed joinery create an extremely comforting atmosphere."

–Power and Motoryacht Magazine

The most notable feature inside is the unique “downstairs cabin” that is accessed when an electric switch slides the straight settee to port away from the wall, to reveal steps down to an area that’s highly customizable.

–Boats.com

"The 48 Salon Express was the first model with an interior that Sabre designed around the pod-drive propulsion system, which, as on most boats, takes up less space than a traditional engine-room setup."

–Yachtworld.com

"One characteristic people will like about the T48 is its versatility. It performs like a sportboat, carving turns at speed with no slipping, and it is an entertainment platform, with a main deck that flows from the cockpit all the way to the helm."

–Sea Magazine

All in all, the Talaria 48 is a luxurious weekender, or day boat, or a platform for getting away from it all. And it’s guaranteed to turn heads wherever it goes.

–Southern Boating Magazine

"The exterior is couple-friendly too, thanks to an uncluttered foredeck, 9-inch-wide side decks, and a waist-high bowrail. A grabrail atop the house is a thoughtful touch..."

DESIGNED FOR the experienced cruising couple, the Hinckley Talaria 48 is a two-stateroom, two-head motoryacht whose spacious aft deck provides generous seating all around. As one expects in a Hinckley yacht, the salon is an elegant display of superb craftsmanship with cherry and teak woods. The Talaria's 15'5" beam provides for spacious accommodations including a comfortable pilothouse area, open galley, two full heads, guest cabin with twin bunks and luxurious master suite with centerline queen berth. When the glass salon doors are opened the entire yacht becomes a wide open express boat. Port and starboard coaming gates, wide side decks and sturdy handrails make line handling and getting around easy. Hinckley's one-piece hull construction consists of a Kevlar/E-glass outer skin and a Corecell foam core. The hull is laminated with vinylester resin using SCRIMP molding process. Beautifully appointed throughout, the Hinckley 48 Talaria is perfect for entertaining. Early models with 715hp Cummins engines with Hamilton waterjets cruise at 28 knots (low 30s top). In 2014, the Talaria 48 IPS became available with twin 630hp Volvo D-11 pod drive diesels (30 knots cruise).
